What is KuantoKusta?

KuantoKusta is Portugal's largest and longest-running price comparison platform. It was founded in 2004 by three brothers, Paulo, Pedro and David Pimenta, who noticed Portugal had no site that gathered and compared retailer prices, and launched the service in May 2005 as the country's first price comparator.

Two decades on, KuantoKusta lists more than 2 million products from around 1,300 online stores across 16 main categories, spanning electronics, home appliances, fashion, health and beauty, gaming, DIY, childcare, sports and more. In 2018 it added a Marketplace, letting shoppers buy directly on KuantoKusta instead of only being redirected to a merchant's own site, and the company reports around 60 million sessions a year on the platform.

Why connect your product feed to KuantoKusta?

Portuguese shoppers use KuantoKusta as a default research step before buying online, so being absent from it means being invisible at the exact moment a comparison-minded buyer is deciding where to purchase. A well-maintained feed gets your catalog listed against direct competitors on price, shipping cost and delivery time — the three factors KuantoKusta surfaces prominently on every listing.

Selling through KuantoKusta also opens access to Marketplace-only features such as Buy Box eligibility, store ratings, a Top Seller badge, delivery/financing labels, and (per KuantoKusta's own seller page) future sponsored-placement slots, plus a dedicated account manager for larger catalogs.

DUO vs. Marketplace: which selling model fits your store?

KuantoKusta sellers choose between two commercial models, both described on its own store-registration page:

  1. DUO — your listing shows two buttons: an orange "buy on KuantoKusta" button (Marketplace checkout, commission charged only on completed sales) and a blue button that sends the click through to your own website on a cost-per-click basis, with no commission on the resulting sale since checkout happens on your own domain. There is no lock-in period.
  2. Marketplace only — a single orange button; every purchase completes inside KuantoKusta's own checkout, and a commission is charged per finalized sale.

KuantoKusta does not publish its exact commission percentages or CPC bid ranges, so confirm current rates with your account manager before committing to a model — but the mechanic itself (DUO's dual button vs. single-button Marketplace) is documented directly by KuantoKusta.

What feed format does KuantoKusta require?

KuantoKusta ingests a structured product feed — commonly XML, with CSV also used by some feed tools — hosted at a stable URL you control (for example https://www.yourstore.pt/feeds/kuantokusta.xml). You register that URL once in your KuantoKusta seller account, and it is your responsibility to keep the file behind it current; KuantoKusta does not accept one-off manual uploads for ongoing catalogs.

KuantoKusta organizes its catalog into a fixed set of product "families" (category groupings), and its own documentation notes that reusing KuantoKusta's existing family structure in your feed, rather than inventing your own category tree, speeds up integration and product matching. Some fields also carry different rules depending on whether your store operates under the price-comparison-only, DUO, or Marketplace (MP) model, so the same feed can behave differently depending on which model your account is set to.

Which product attributes does KuantoKusta expect?

KuantoKusta's own official feed-plugin partner for WooCommerce — built, in the vendor's words, "in partnership with KuantoKusta" and endorsed by KuantoKusta as its approved WooCommerce integration — documents the following as the core data points a KuantoKusta feed carries:

AttributePurpose
Product name / titleDisplayed on listings and used for search matching
Product URLDeep link to the product on your own store
Image URLMain product photo; the Marketplace add-on supports up to five images per product
PriceFinal consumer price; KuantoKusta's Marketplace terms require prices to include all applicable taxes
Availability / stockWhether the item can be ordered right now
EAN / UPC / GTINBarcode used for product matching against other retailers selling the same item
BrandManufacturer or brand name
Brand SKU / MPNManufacturer's part number, used alongside brand and EAN to disambiguate variants
Category / familyPlacement within KuantoKusta's own category ("family") taxonomy
Shipping costStandard and, where offered, express shipping cost per item
Delivery timeMinimum/maximum preparation time and minimum/maximum delivery time

KuantoKusta's Marketplace Terms and Conditions independently confirm several of these as seller obligations in their own right: sellers must announce products with clear characteristics, a price that already includes tax, the shipping cost, the delivery timeframe, and the identity of the vendor.

How to connect your feed to KuantoKusta with Feedance

Feedance turns your existing product data — a Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop or custom export — into a KuantoKusta-ready feed without you having to hand-build XML or maintain a plugin.

  1. In the Feedance dashboard, create a new channel and select KuantoKusta as the destination.
  2. Connect your source feed (store platform export, existing Google Shopping feed, or a direct upload) so Feedance can read your current catalog.
  3. Map your fields to the attributes KuantoKusta expects — name, price, EAN/GTIN, brand, brand SKU/MPN, category/family, images, stock, shipping cost and delivery time — and align your categories to KuantoKusta's family taxonomy.
  4. Set your commercial model (price comparison, DUO, or Marketplace) so pricing and any required fields match what that model expects.
  5. Publish the generated feed URL and register it in your KuantoKusta seller account, then let Feedance handle scheduled refreshes automatically.

How often should the feed update?

Because your feed URL is polled rather than pushed, staleness shows up directly as wrong prices or phantom stock on KuantoKusta's listings. Third-party feed-tool documentation for KuantoKusta (Mulwi) states that KuantoKusta "requires the latest product information in the feed" and typically retrieves it about once every 24 hours, though KuantoKusta's own crawl cadence for a given account can vary.

In practice, refresh at least once every 24 hours as a baseline, and more frequently — several times a day — for categories where price or stock changes quickly, such as electronics or promotional lines, since a listing that goes out of stock or changes price mid-day will otherwise sit incorrect on KuantoKusta until the next crawl. Feedance can schedule these refreshes automatically so you don't have to trigger them by hand.

Common feed and listing issues to avoid

KuantoKusta does not publish a public list of feed error codes, but its own Marketplace Terms make clear which data points it checks, and the same fields are exactly where merchant feeds most commonly go wrong:

  1. Price excludes tax. KuantoKusta's terms require the advertised price to already include all applicable taxes — a feed that sends a pre-tax price will misrepresent the real cost to shoppers and to KuantoKusta's own price-matching.
  2. Missing or mismatched shipping cost and delivery time. Sellers are contractually required to disclose these per product; a feed that omits them, or a store page that shows different figures than the feed, is a direct Terms mismatch.
  3. Missing EAN/GTIN or brand. Without a barcode, KuantoKusta cannot match your listing to the same product from other sellers, which fragments your visibility instead of consolidating it.
  4. Wrong or invented category. Mapping to your own store's categories instead of KuantoKusta's family taxonomy causes products to be placed where shoppers filtering by category won't find them.
  5. Stale stock status. Because KuantoKusta re-reads your feed on its own schedule rather than in real time, an item sold out between crawls will still show as available until the next fetch.

Optimization tips for KuantoKusta

  1. Reuse KuantoKusta's own family taxonomy instead of remapping from scratch — KuantoKusta's documentation notes this speeds up integration and matching.
  2. Always send EAN/GTIN plus brand and MPN together. The combination is what lets KuantoKusta consolidate offers for the same product onto one listing where you compete on price and shipping rather than being buried as an unmatched duplicate.
  3. Keep shipping cost and delivery time accurate at the SKU level, not just store-wide defaults — these are two of the three data points (with price) that KuantoKusta displays directly on the comparison listing.
  4. Pick DUO if you want both channels. Since DUO carries no lock-in and adds a CPC-only path to your own site alongside the Marketplace button, it's a lower-commitment way to test Marketplace performance before going all-in.
  5. Add more images where your plan allows. KuantoKusta's Marketplace-oriented feed tools support multiple photos per product; extra angles help conversion once a shopper clicks through.

Frequently asked questions

Does KuantoKusta charge for listing products?
Under the DUO model, the CPC (blue button) path is pay-per-click and the Marketplace (orange button) path is commission-per-sale; under Marketplace-only, it's commission-per-sale. KuantoKusta does not publish exact rates publicly, so confirm current pricing with your account manager during onboarding.

Is a barcode (EAN/GTIN) mandatory?
KuantoKusta's own feed documentation and its official plugin partner treat EAN/UPC/GTIN as a core field used for product matching. Products without one risk showing as unmatched duplicates instead of consolidated listings, so treat it as required in practice even where a feed might technically validate without it.

Can I sell through KuantoKusta without becoming a Marketplace seller?
Yes — the price-comparison-only listing sends shoppers to your own site to complete checkout, distinct from the DUO and Marketplace models where a sale can complete inside KuantoKusta.

Does Feedance support both price-comparison and Marketplace feeds for KuantoKusta?
Yes. You set your commercial model when configuring the KuantoKusta channel in Feedance, and Feedance adjusts which fields are populated and how pricing is mapped accordingly.

How do I register my feed URL with KuantoKusta?
You add your store through KuantoKusta's seller registration, then submit your feed's URL in your seller account so KuantoKusta can begin crawling it on its own schedule.
