Product Filters

Leaner feeds that skip what does not sell.

Filters include or exclude products by any attribute or label, per channel. Keep out-of-stock items, broken size runs or Toxic products out of an export, or build a feed for one category, one price range or a list of IDs.

What it is

Decide which products each channel gets.

A product filter applies criteria to your feed and decides which products are included or excluded. It reads any attribute in your data, such as price, brand, size, stock status or category, and the labels Feedance adds, such as Product Score and 4T segment.

Filtering keeps each feed focused on the products most likely to perform, so you stop spending on items that cannot sell, and adapts quickly when inventory, pricing or strategy changes.

  • Include or exclude by any attribute or Feedance label
  • Set per channel, so each export gets its own product list
  • Updates automatically as stock and data change
  • Works with supplementary feeds to filter by a list of IDs
What you can filter on

Any field in the feed, plus Feedance labels.

A filter matches products on one or more conditions and then includes or excludes them. Field names below are examples from a typical product feed.

Key features

Attributes, labels and lists.

Attribute filters
Filter by price, brand, size, stock status, category, custom tags or any other field in your feed.
Label filters
Use Feedance labels such as product_score, segment_4t and broken_size to keep weak products out.
Supplementary feed filters
Match products against IDs listed in a supplementary feed to include or exclude them from the main feed.
Per channel
Each export has its own filters, so every channel gets the product list that fits it.
How it works

From full catalog to focused feed.

  1. 01
    Pick the export
Choose the channel feed the filter applies to, for example your Meta catalog.
  2. 02
    Include or exclude
Decide whether matching products are kept in the feed or left out of it.
  3. 03
    Add conditions
Match products on any attribute or label, such as g:availability equal out_of_stock or segment_4t equal Toxic.
  4. 04
    Save and sync
The filter runs before every export, so the product list stays current on each sync.

Questions about Product Filters

How filters decide which products each channel gets.

Can I update my product filters dynamically?

Yes, with Feedance, you can create dynamic filters that adjust automatically based on changes in your data. For example, items that go out of stock can be excluded, or promotional tags can be added based on updated supplementary feeds, ensuring your feed stays current and accurate.

Why is product filtering important for feed optimization?

Product filtering ensures your feed is clean, relevant, and aligned with your business goals. By removing low-value or irrelevant products, you can reduce clutter, improve ad performance, and focus your budget on items that are more likely to convert.
